Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has attached great importance to food security and promoted a social ethos of “practicing thrift and opposing waste.” Recently, General Secretary Xi Jinping issued important instructions, emphasizing the need to resolutely curb food waste, cultivate habits of frugality, and foster throughout society an atmosphere in which wasting is shameful and saving is honorable. Jiangsu Xindao Ge Automatic Control Technology Co., Ltd. attaches great importance to the spirit of these important instructions. On September 14, our company’s Party branch held a thematic Party organization meeting on “Practicing Thrift and Opposing Waste.” At the meeting, Party members collectively studied relevant documents, including “Xi Jinping Issues Important Instructions Emphasizing: Resolutely Curb Food Waste, Cultivate Habits of Frugality, and Foster an Atmosphere Throughout Society Where Wasting Is Shameful and Saving Is Honorable,” as well as “The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission Issue Opinions Designating the Curb of Food Waste as an Important Aspect of Rectifying the ‘Four Undesirable Trends.’” They also watched a video excerpt from CCTV’s “Focus Talk,” episode dated August 3, 2020, titled “Every Grain and Every Meal Are Precious Yet Crucial.” Drawing on their own positions and responsibilities, Party members engaged in discussions and exchanges, exploring concrete measures to promote thrift in their work—such as conserving electricity, paper, and water—and actively proposed specific initiatives tailored to our company, including introducing a rotating red‑flag system for dining tables and offering large, medium, and small portion sizes to better match individual appetites. These measures will be officially implemented this month. “Practicing thrift and opposing waste” is more than just a slogan; it embodies an attitude of cherishing a better life. The key lies in action and perseverance. Remaining true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind, our company will further strengthen its confidence and resolve to follow the Party, consciously serving as advocates, practitioners, and role models of frugality and thrift, thereby making due and positive contributions to building a resource‑conserving workplace and a resource‑saving society. At the conclusion of the meeting, all Party members signed a pledge to “practice thrift and oppose waste,” vowing to become active practitioners of frugality, hold themselves to high standards, set positive examples, and actively promote this new culture of thrift and conservation among all employees.
